Worthington has a strong mix of outdoor public courts and indoor organized play. Olentangy River Parklands has 12 public pickleball courts, the Worthington Community Center schedules seasonal indoor pickleball, and Paddle Taps has 17 climate-controlled courts with daily open play, leagues, clinics, and lessons. For someone coming alone, Paddle Taps offers the clearest year-round route into scheduled games.

Worthington Courts and Facilities

  • Olentangy River Parklands
600 W. Wilson Bridge Road, Worthington, OH 43085
Worthington's main public outdoor complex has 12 pickleball courts. The courts are listed as non-rentable, so they remain available for general public use rather than private court reservations. The park also has two tennis courts, trails, playgrounds, and river access. There is no fixed city open play schedule, so public court availability should not be confused with a guaranteed paddle rotation. See Worthington court information.
  • Worthington Community Center
345 E. Wilson Bridge Road, Worthington, OH 43085
The Community Center has two gymnasiums, each lined for three pickleball courts. Worthington Parks and Recreation schedules seasonal adult indoor pickleball here, with registered sessions and space-available drop-ins during active program periods. The gyms can also be rented for private pickleball games. See current Worthington recreation programs.
  • Paddle Taps
535 Lakeview Plaza Boulevard, Worthington, OH 43085
Paddle Taps has 17 climate-controlled indoor pickleball courts with daily open play for multiple skill levels, court reservations, leagues, DUPR match play, tournaments, clinics, and private lessons. Membership is optional. Non-members can participate, though programs require advance registration rather than walk-in entry. See Paddle Taps play options and schedule.
  • SG Pckle at SuperGames
6580 Huntley Road, Columbus, OH 43229
This private indoor facility is in the Worthington area and has two full pickleball courts. It is designed primarily for groups that reserve their own playing time rather than public drop-in games. A player becomes a host, books a time, and brings a group. This makes it useful for friends who want private indoor court time, though it is not the place to arrive alone looking for opponents. See SG Pckle court information.

New to Pickleball?

New players should start with a beginner clinic at Paddle Taps. The club offers beginner group clinics along with private and semi-private lessons, so someone completely new to the game has a structured path into regular play. Daily open play gives players a next step once they understand scoring, positioning, and basic shots. See Paddle Taps lessons and clinics.

Worthington Parks and Recreation also uses the Community Center for seasonal pickleball instruction, including novice programming when offered. See the current recreation guide. Players looking for additional individual instruction can use the Coaches section.

Open Play, Leagues and Programs

Paddle Taps provides the most consistent organized pickleball in Worthington. Daily open play is offered for different skill levels, and the club also runs seasonal leagues, DUPR match play, clinics, tournaments, and special events. All programs require advance registration. See current Paddle Taps programs.

Worthington Parks and Recreation also schedules adult indoor pickleball at the Community Center during seasonal program sessions. These are organized recreation sessions rather than ordinary gym availability. See current city registration information.

The 12 outdoor courts at Olentangy River Parklands provide substantial public playing capacity, though the city does not publish a recurring weekly open play schedule for the park.

A Visitor's Game Plan

If you are visiting Worthington alone, register for an open play session at Paddle Taps. Open play runs daily, membership is not required, and the scheduled format gives you a direct route into games without bringing three partners. Register before arriving because Paddle Taps does not accept walk-ins for its programs.

If you already have partners and want to play outdoors, head to Olentangy River Parklands. Its 12 non-rentable public courts make it the straightforward outdoor choice. The Worthington Community Center is another option when a seasonal indoor pickleball session matches your visit. SG Pckle works well for a group wanting private indoor court time, though its host-based reservation model is not intended for solo drop-in play.
